Progress through change: the first forum under a new name
From 23 to 25 June 2026, ebblo and nexfeld, together with Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG (SSB), welcomed numerous participants to Impuls Mobilitätsforum in Stuttgart. This year’s event was held under the motto «Fortschritt durch Veränderung» (progress through change) and marked a special first: following the rebrand of ebblo and nexfeld, the customer conference – formerly Trapeze Forum – took place for the first time under its new name, Impuls Mobilitätsforum.
The event brought together transport professionals and decision-makers who use an ebblo control system or ITCS, or nexfeld’s planning and scheduling solutions, as well as public transport consultants. The focus was on current developments at ebblo and nexfeld and across the industry, practical experience from transport operators, and personal exchange on the challenges and opportunities of tomorrow’s mobility.
Practical insights worth sharing
Contributions from our customers set important impulses right from the first day. Representatives from Schaffhausen and Stuttgart shared practical experience, showing how accessible public transport can be designed and how new opportunities can emerge from challenging starting points.
Experience reports from transport operators also played a central role in the specialist sessions on the following days. Participants gained insight into concrete projects and discussed how digital solutions are used in day-to-day operations. This exchange of experience is exactly what has made the event a valuable platform for ebblo and nexfeld customers for years.
A wide range of topics on new technology and greater efficiency
Impuls Mobilitätsforum showed just how varied the current issues in public transport are. The focus was not on individual technologies alone, but on how many different topics interact – topics that concern transport operators today and in the future: from modern control systems, planning and scheduling, data management and business intelligence, to on-board systems, V2X, passenger information, accessibility, cloud solutions, and IT security. Artificial intelligence was also an important topic for the future, running through many conversations and discussions.
How can new technologies help make processes more efficient, put data to better use, and develop public transport step by step?
The many specialist sessions made clear how dynamically the mobility industry is changing, and how valuable it is to exchange concrete experience, new approaches, and technological developments. The practical reports from transport operators, in particular, showed how ebblo and nexfeld solutions are used in daily operations and what contribution they can make to the further development of public transport.
Space for exchange and networking
Alongside the specialist talks, personal encounters were at the heart of the event. Many participants are long-standing ebblo and nexfeld customers and used the event to maintain existing contacts, exchange experience, and take home fresh ideas for their daily work.
The programme was rounded out by interactive workshops, meetings of various interest groups, and site visits at SSB. Visits to the Gaisburg depot, the «Zacke» rack railway station, the main workshop, and the driving simulator in Möhringen all proved popular.
Beyond the specialist programme, the forum also offered plenty of room for personal encounters and relaxed conversation. A joint visit to the SSB tram museum, including a ride on historic trams, followed by dinner at Palm Beach, made for memorable moments. The second day of the event ended with a barbecue and table-football tournament in Waldaupark, enjoyed in good company under perfect summer weather.
