Trapeze LIO-Volta

More and more transport operators are opting for electric buses. This leads to new challenges for the dispatchers in the control center. A charging plan might specify for each electric vehicle when to recharge and at which charging station, but delays and detours can make it difficult, if not impossible, to adhere to the plan. This is where the system component LIO Volta comes in.

It collects consumption data of electric buses in operation and forecasts the travel time, the expected passenger load level, and the remaining range for each vehicle. How does this work? The data is tapped in real time from the CAN bus of each vehicle and centralized via public mobile radio.

On this basis, LIO Volta calculates forecasts and makes target to actual comparisons.

If the remaining range or the energy balance is insufficient, LIO Volta raises an alarm. The dispatcher then has various functions at his disposal to maintain operations.
